Promoting your business on Facebook & Earning an Income

Social media has now become a phenomenon.  Today, almost everyone with access to the web has at least one social media account.  Others create one just to connect with old friends and make new friends, while others create an account to post their blogs and pictures.

One of the most famous social network sites is Facebook, and this is probably because of its user-friendliness, constant updates, games, and loads of other applications.  It is one of the most widely visited sites in the world, with over 800 million users – and it is because of this that more and more businessmen are trying to develop ways to make money from this social network.

One advantage of using Facebook to promote you’re business is that it is cheap, almost free, all you need to do is build a good network of friends that you can connect to.

After you have invited friends to your account, the next thing to do is to strategize.  However, you will need to be patient with this.  Try adding your friends to your postings and blogs or tagging them to pictures of items you’re selling (I saw a local firm doing this, for a product launch event and got a good response). Doing some postings is quite essential when you are marketing certain items in Facebook, because this is usually the first thing that is viewed by public and if the caption is interesting -then there is a big chance that your friends will check out the posting, and possibly make a purchase.

Here are some more ways that you can use Facebook as a platform to promote your business.

Pay-per-click advertising– It is one of the most common and popular ways of advertising your business on Facebook.  With the great flexibility and options you can customize your adds to target your audience precisely with your advert. So that its only seen by your potential customers.

Direct Selling– This is another method of selling using Facebook. On your business page, you can post your latest products, promotions and offers, directing users to your landing page for easy purchase, or directly to your product detail page so that they can purchase the product or service. This is actually more like online shopping – which gives your friends an idea of the goods that you are selling. They can check out pictures of the items, available sizes and colors of the items in the account. It would also help if you create short posts about the products that you are selling, such as what it is made out of, how payments are done and the availability of stocks.

If your an online retailer, you can even offer certain products, or offers just to your facebook fans.

Affiliate Marketing– This method is a lot like advertising, but in a direct manner. All you have to do is register with affiliate sites and choose items that your Facebook friends might be interested in.  After registration, affiliate sites will then provide a code and ID to you.  With this, you will get a commission every time someone clicks a link that you posted and purchases an item.

If you have an existing website that sells goods or services, this is a very good way to direct traffic to your website. All that you need to do is just to post the link of your website in your Facebook page and then invite your friends.

Create applications for Facebook.  If you think you have the knowledge and skills to make an application for Facebook, then why don’t you try creating and selling one to Facebook members?  Another option is to sell applications directly to Facebook, and earn thru advertisements in your applications.

These are some of the ways to create profit from Facebook and also to build your awareness and promote your products. You just need to make sure that you have a lot of followers or friends in your social media accounts to create a large market for what you are selling.  But in the end, you will be able to get the profits that you have always wanted all along.
